Hey, good for your oral exam. I think you made a good choice with waiting to fly. When it comes to check rides, its always better to play it safe.

I just had my first solo in the T-34 Turbomentor yesterday....its funny, my first check ride in a cessna was tough I thought, now after flying in Flight School now, check rides arnt so bad. I hope you dont get nervous like I did on my first check ride....I was such a wreck, that when we were comming up short on a final approach, my instructor asked me if I would try to stretch the glide if i had a engine failure and I said yes!!!!! Totaly failed me on that. Luckly yesterday's checkride, I was much better prepared and less nervous.

Good luck once you get up in the air man, and if you did well with the oral part on the ground, that always helps you out when you get in the air. Im sure you will do just fine.

Congrats on your oral. The weather will get better one day in Texas. I just flew yesterday and saw all the weather around Dallas. I would not want to be heading there yesterday.

Dude....let me know when you get down here in the P-Cola area...I live on the base at Pensacola (I was one of the married guys who already knew he was going to whiting).

I have some study guides that might help.

I finally completed my checkride today and now I can consider myself a bonafied private pilot. Out here in Texas thunderstorms were poping up like crazy around here. The checkride went really smooth though, even with the Presidential TFR in Crawford being active which is a big deal around here. My examiner didn't gig me on anything that I am awaire of. He said that I had very good approaches and glideslopes to land for someone with only 45hrs. If anyone in the Texas area is looking for an FAA examiner shoot me a message. My examiner could not have been any better.

I started my Private Pilot training in 1986. Got up to CFII/MEI by 1989. Flew a Queenair freight for 8 months. Got on with Mesaba/Northwest Airlink in 1991. Was hired as a Fk27 FO...then Dash 8 FO...then Metro 3 Captain...then Dash 8 Captain...Then Saab Captain. Then got hired as a 737 FO at Continental. Furloughed and flowed back to Express after 9/11 and flew as ATR Captain...then EMB 145 Captain. Then got called back to Mainline CAL in 2004 and then went into 757/767 FO. That is where I am now with 9 type ratings and who knows how much flight time....probably North of 15,000 hours.

For those that are just getting started, GOOD LUCK!!! For those who will keep aviation as a hobby, I envy you. For those who will make aviaiton their career, I pray for you!!!!:) It is a TOUGH business!!!
