Ive ben out of the suspension game for awhile, work on stuff with 0 suspension LOL, but it sure does sound like something is binding with the newer parts interfering with the old.

What happened to keeping the 3RZ for life?!

STi is fucking fantastic. I love every inch of that car!

Oil consumption bulletins are a thing. That's what happens when your tolerances (+/-) for your machine work have a little too much potential play. If your cylinder bore runs on the high side of the tolerance, and the piston diameter runs on the small side of the tolerance, by the spec sheet, they are ok. In reality, it opens the potential to consume oil. We have done a few replacements here and there. At least Subaru owned up to it. I personally would have kept the XV, especially with a new short block. As long as you don't have the sewing machine tap from the driver's side cam and lifters, you should be ok. Even the tapping noise had a bulletin with revised parts.

I'm partial to Subaru. They've really earned my trust. My FJ is fantastic as well, so was my 4Runner, but my mom's 16 4Runner is a shitbox with a whole bunch of trans and rear diff issues...[/QUOTE]

What's Subaru spec for the oil for the STi, 0w-20? I know you should for warranty reasons but I wouldn't run that thin if you paid me. My Mom's Forester is 0w-20 so I watch it like a hawk.

My car really liked GC in mine, never consumed, never burned. I did the KillerB oil pickup because of all the broken pickup issues. Has Subaru solved that one yet?

You should bring it to Basspro in 2 weeks. I forgot I had a late work meeting tonight and I'm tired, plus have to clean the house tomorrow so I'm out of action :(
