3rd Gen Quicksand thread

If the lights weren't on, that truck would be barely noticeable- nice!

 

Did some camping and wheeling this past weekend up in north Georgia.

 

Took my quicksand from LA to Vegas and back yesterday for business. Averaged 15.9 mpg. Speed average .... well there is an 8 and a 5 in there.

 

Planning a trip there for June. Which trails are those?

 

Charlie's Creek Rd near Clayton, Dicks Creek (Kennedy's Ln) near Clayton, Tray Mountain Rd near Helen, Flatland Rd off of Wolf Pen Gap Rd near Suches, and Sheep Wallow Rd near Dahlonega.

Got the windows tinted and added N-Fabs. Wheels and tires next.... slowly but surely!

 

I've enjoyed all of those trails. I really enjoy Creek crossings, for some odd reason.

 

I know the feeling.

 

Keep pumping money into my home town economy! Buy local when you're there.
Funny thing is I've never wheeled much of the popular trails around Clayton that people post here. Ridden most of them on dirtbikes and mountain bikes, just not via 4 wheels

 

Dude, I love it up there. The people, the landscape, everything.

 

It's a special place no doubt. I hope to be back in that area full time at some point down the road.

 

Spent another 10 minutes in the parking lot talking to someone again about the color of my truck. Older guy around my age (mid 50s) was driving a 12 year old Frontier and approached me, said he was crazy about the color. Had all kinds of questions, wanted to see more on the inside but most of all he kept insisting about how much he loved the color. Said his wife thinks that color is boring but he said he loved it because it was so different. I usually get complemented on the color at least once a month.

I've had blue, red, silver and gold trucks, no one has ever approached me in the past about those colors, the QS draws them in like nothing else.

 

x2- exactly that with my wife and me- still really like it and don't expect to change my mind ever- washed it today and it looks beautiful. Best color available, including cement. Quicksand FTW

 

so i keep seeing trd off roads with crome rer bumprs. but mine came with a body colored rear bumper. any ideas why that is? is it cause have a 2017?

 

I don't have the tech package /blind spot monitoring, tech package comes with body colored bumper caps.

 

What jsinnard said, or you're in Canada where all double cab off roads have colour matched rear bumpers.

 

Have to agree, I've seen a few Pros on the road here and last week saw my first cement colored Tundra Pro, did not look as good as the QS to me.

 

We get body coloured bumper caps on all TRD DC Off Roads in Canada. Chrome not available.

 

Finally was able to get my hands on some SCS wheels.
