Is it not possible to buy a 2010 double cab 4x4 BASE timberland mica, without any sr5 packages?

I was messing around on toyota.com building my own Tacoma and when you get to the second option which is trim, Base isn't available. I wouldn't mind the sr5 trims added but I'd rather have the grill, bumpers, and accents all black, and save money.

    thanks man.

27k for a base model truck is ridiculous. Might as well spend another 3k and get the Off-Road with everything.

I don't like the chrome and all either. But I traded a '08 PreRunner for a '10 SR5 4x4 because I wanted the extra stuff, like intermittent wipers, cruise control and remote entry. I didn't need the 4x4 but since I was upgrading got it all.

I was looking at the 09 specs and it seems the starting package for the 4x4 double cab's was the SR5 trim. But you may be able to order a truck as you would like, as long as timing was not an issue.

I was not looking to go trd to save some $ but when I figured another 2-3k for all the up grades I spent the 27k for mine. Can't wait to put the alloys back on.

For resale value, the top of the line of any model is also good to have. Wait for the specials/incentives then offer them say around 300 above invoice, nothing more. You may even have more bargaining power with all the Toyota safety issue going on, and may be able to get a vehicle at cost, plus any specials going on. Its a "Buyers Market" for the first time with a Toyota. Just depends on supply and demand. If the dealer has a lot of Tacomas, great chance to get one near invoice, but I am sure they want to move anything they can. :D

When I bought my 04 in 04 I got 1.9% financing. The Tacomas nowadays will still eventually get some good incentives. The dealer with the best quote has had that truck since early January so I know he would go down more than 30,060 or whatever it was.

Anyone else think it is a little unbelievable in 2010 "extra stuff" on a $27k truck is intermittent wipers, cruise control and remote entry?!?!

For sure. To be honest, If the DC SB 4X4 BASE had power windows and locks I'd get it. I just don't off road enough to spend almost 30k for a truck with all the nice shit, but considering the base with an sr5 package is about 27k, I might as well get the off-road ya know?

You can just get SR5 if you want to save $ and don't need a locker.

Both sr5 packages in my region all have the color keyed bumpers fenders. I'd rather have the black. And the price they want for the what I want in sr5 is still ridiculous. Hence me saying I might as well go big and get the off road.

There is currently an incentive on the Tacoma. 0% financing for 36 months. I got this from Edmonds.com and the NADA web site. All the other car buying sites should also have info on this.

I thought I liked the Chrome from the Off Road and the SR5 and got my 08 in Off Road. I got rid of the 08 for stupid reasons and got back into a 10 with the Sport. Love the color keyed. I think for the extra couple of k., its worth to go Sport or Off Road. But that is just me.
