    I siliconed the hell out of the inside of the rivnnuts, and put the bolts back in. Lets hope i stay dry from now on

    One thing I found when applying silicone is if you add just enough around the surface where the bolt shoulder will sit so that when you tighten everything down, you should get a nice even swell of silicone around the bolt. A lot of people try to smear it around thinking it'll seal better, but I advise to resist that urge and just let it dry and you should be good to go.

    I didn't smear it around the bolt heads, but i kinda did a 2nd bead around the rivnut, and i tried to connect it there. Don't know if it will work. I might try it today. Its been about 12 hours of curing

    I don't mind helping but it's really not that bad. Patience is the key and going slow will help you avoid damage. Just remember you're not drilling into a 2x4 and let the drill bit do the work.

    Since you did get a little water intrusion before that, I'd recommend dropping the headliner to double check for rust. The tiny metal shavings that were made when you drilled the holes the first time will rust incredibly fast. This could potentially leave rust stains in your headliner or worse, spread to other hidden sheet metal. I know it sounds like a PITA, but an ounce of prevention and all that.

    I may do this when its going to be dry for a while. I kind of want to apply more silicon from the bottom as well.

    Thanks for the heads up. I did blow all of those metal shavings out of the roof channel, and as many as I could find on the inside of my cab. Im not sure if any are on the headliner
