Adjust the squelch?

OK spill..what are some of the little one's pearls of wisdom?

 

Did you tune it you can get a tuner at any big truck stop on your way out west. Fly J and TA have them. Adjust the squelch. You could be getting some interfaces from the way you routed you cable. Are you running a radar detector or large stereo system?

 

I just put in for vacation time at work. I've got June 24 through July 4th off. I've decided I'm doing two days of sleep followed by four days of house/yard followed by 3 days of vehicles, the usual July 3rd family cookout thing and then a final day of sleep.

I'm excited.

 

Work is shut down the week of the 4th of July for me

 

Remind me did you want to use my tractor attachments?

I've played around with the squelch..I don't have a large stereo system or radar. I went power straight to the battery and ground straight to the chassis

 

You do need tune it. Where is your antenna

 

My antenna is at my tailgate

 

Not the best spot for ground plane. I had a 5' firestik on my first gen right by the tailgate. It would receive from miles away, but tx was junk. Pretty easy to tune it with swr meter .

 

ok most likely you getting charging system interference or fuel pump static. Did you ground and tune your antenna? what kind of antenna are you running? Brand and style

That's a good deal. I'm in maniac mode now and it will get even crazier after the 4th. We're building a chemical plant to test new technology and we need to start running experiments right after the 4th.

I think I'm good for now. Right now I'm trying to get a handle on all the plantings. I despise my lawn tractor and it's got a leaky fuel line I have to fix anyways, so I've been using my push mower.

You didn't loop your antenna cable anywhere did you? Looping cable is a big no no!
