    I don't know if it was crappy build quality or having a bed rack since day affected my truck. But both sides had at least least a 1/4" gap at the top of these brackets. :eek:

    Mine were the same way, maybe a little less like 1/8. I didn't feel like taking the brackets back off to ensure they were square so I just went for it. Lol.

    A few things to mention....

    The smaller stock torx bolt that was originally holding the d ring.......well it had 1 spacer and 2 thick washers. By removing the spacer and washers, and reusing the bolt in the ATH bracket it created an empty cavity under the bracket. As I was tightening the bolt it started "pulling" the threaded insert up and into the cavity. I stopped, reassessed and installed the spacer and washers under the bracket in the cavity.

    Not sure if it's staying that way though because now the bracket doesn't push down on the bed plastic like it should.

    There is a steel crossmember under the plastic bed with the nut welded to it on the underside. You'll be fine snugging that bolt down without those spacers under the bracket. It won't pull out of the plastic. :thumbsup:
