You know, I'm convinced that my heated mirrors didn't work... They always stayed icy until I scraped them. That thing gave me a few electrical issues that just continued to get more extensive. And yeah, I miss those a little bit, but my window is one touch down, and I don't care about my passengers... They have a free hand, so they'll be fine

Yea i ran with the pad for years now, it's fine for a couple bikes or so but it looses it's appeal on days with 5 bikes, 5 guys, 3-4 dogs, gear and a beer cooler. (in a short bed). this will secure the bikes much better than a pad too for those bumpy roads.

 

5 bikes?? looks a bit narrow... are you tuning the forks 90 degrees??

 

Also, nice bike! SantaCruz's are always a good time. I'm on a patrol at the moment...

Yea turning the forks. it actually will fit quite nicely. full size truck could do 6 with a rack like this

Sick rig! Looks like you live in Bellingham? Wished I could find an engineering job up there and I would move in a heart beat. Everything is in Seattle, which isnt bad, but I really dont want anything to do with that traffic.

My bike is actually a Lapierre Zesty. Its similar to the Santa Cruz but the linkage is a little different. I upgraded it with Fox suspension.

 

oh wow total fakeout on the Lapierre! the upper linkage looked like VPP. Great looking ride man. Yea Bellingham is a dream for mountain biking. I have my degree in mech engineering and a bunch of my buddies work in the field up here. I hear ya on Seattle traffic, i commute once a week down past Seattle and it's a nightmare if i don't leave ridiculously early in the morning.

 

What a close call, I had to bust out my Taco-epi pen last night and order a KB VooDoo Tailgate cap.
