Well I wish you were nearby, I would have beers, BBQ and pay your wages.

 

I remember my father telling me that once he was in his 50's he didn't want to work anymore and it was common for most people. Floored me, he was always a hard worker and I always kind of defined myself by my job. Didn't really believe him at the time. Come to find out once again that man knew exactly what he was talking about. I do miss him and his wisdom.

 

My Dad decided he had enough at 54. He retired and took 3 months off. Then he had a few part time jobs, he worked them until he got tired of it, then moved on. He lived 30 years past retirement.
But he was in WW2 and had a great pension

 

Yawning..... It's seems that I slept in
Did I miss anything ? Dang no naps today

 

That sounds wonderful! Shae he didn't have a bunch more years but he got to enjoy himself some. One of my biggest fears is working until I can retire and being gone shortly there after.

 

I don't want to hear it

 

I think 30 years after retirement is great. I worked with a guy that died at 67 still at work, a month before he was going to retire and start traveling with his wife

 

Yes that appens all too often it's just not fair

 

Late start to the day. Have to figure this out..

 

They retired me at 39. It was a tuff adjustment. At 54 now. And body is falling apart fast

Have one thumb that keeps breaking
They have cut out bone and pinned it together . In broke it again adjusting the timing on one of my trucks . I laugh each time I see that add for the Rubbermaid easy release ice trays. Cause I think I bet I can break my thumb on them

 

morning all lunchtime at work.

 

Talking to my customer, saw this poster and asked him if he followed NHRA. He said "oh yeah, that's me in the poster".



Said he had been driving for 30 years, his friend has put the racer together and right now they are hitting 190 in the quarter, looking for 210 this year.

I've gone to the CHRR in Famoso many times to watch the Cackle cars and Vintage drag racing series
