Before i molded (before i heated actually) i did my cuts with a miter saw and found if i cut the kydex side and left the suede intaked, then used a palm sander at a bit of an angle, i could sand thru the suede and it did better than what i had tried previously

    going to be fun!
Glock still uses "Carbon Nitrizing" the "Tenifer" (Brand name) and you be assured that the metal treatment under the "Parkerized" style treatment is still as good as it's ever been. When I took my Glock armor class all they WOULD say is that's its a good "nitration"process and not even talk about it period.Whatever finish it is buy it and enjoy it!!

Does anybody still like the old Frying Pan finish from the old days?

So do you make your holster cuts before you actually heat up the kydex? I usually start off with an 8x8 piece, heat, mold then trim. For the suede I bought some off Amazon that is 3m backed. I stuck it on the kydex then heated. Hope this helps!

Not really, since that one had a sweat guard i rough cut it out for that, but everything else is a pretty square cut before i heat it since i do most my cuts with a miter saw. Then i cut the suede out with like 1/4" overhang on all sides, stick it on, heat it, mold it, trim and sand.

Ok makes sense. What style press are you using and type of foam?

its knee board foam like gardening or what ever, and I used 2x8's and cabinet clamps.

this looks just like the foam I use, which tells you almost nothing about the foam I use haha

I checked this out today: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. It is ridiculously thin (.975 wide grip) and fits my hand better than the .380 I was considering for an EDC. While this isn't small enough for a pocket gun, it will fit in my console, pack, and overnight bag just fine. After the $75 rebate, it's $266.33. Tough to say no to that great price. I'll be stashing my extra pennies for the next couple weeks.

The shield 9mm is a great gun. I have one as well and for the price you can't beat it. If you want increase capacity Hyve sells a +2 baseplate for the 8rd mags. I'll upload some pics later.

I handled the .380 M&P Bodyguard, the M&P 9mm Shield, and lastly, the new M&P 2.0 for good measure. While the M&P 2.0 would be fun on the range (17 round double stack), is a sweet looking in desert tan, and a great feeling gun with great grip, I think the 9mm is best for my application. The .380 was impossibly small for my hands.

That 2.0 looks sweet! not a fan of that thumb safety though. how's the trigger and reset? my m&p 9 had the grittiest trigger with a ghost reset....lol literally can barely feel or hear the reset.

Just made a holster for a G19 with the new polymer80 frame and I have to say it's nice! Looking to build one myself. Was it easy?

It's actually very simple. As long as you own a drill and dremel (I used mine despite the warning not to and don't regret it) then it's an evenings work to get it up and running.
