Looks cool, seems like a decent addition to a recovery kit

Perfect, I should clarify though, it really depends on density and surface area and depth. I've had snow that is very light and needs a little extra, and if you don't have good depth to bury, you'll probably be doing some shoveling.

I think every time I get stuck it's a completely new scenario and requires thinking through all over again. Which makes general purpose tools like this so useful.

It's a Kinetic recovery rope. Unlike ARB that is tight, when you pull something like I did it feels like you're tearing up your tranny/diff. The Spartan or Bubba kinetic ropes use the energy produced from the stretch and pull the person out. Spartan had a deal for a bag/30' rope/soft shackle on their site....so I bit. Still have my ARB tree saver. May sell those since I'm hoping to have this Deadman saver.

All that buildup.... And this. Neat idea, though. Perfect for someone who doesn't have a tree strap yet. They should show in the video how long it takes them to bury this thing. Maybe that time would be better spent digging out your tires?

Also, for those of you that didn't notice, you'll also need to purchase a soft loop shackle as they show in their vids but don't include in the purchase. I was wondering how 4 straps would fit in a common D ring.....
