You have side by side picture of your rear Pro shock and old shock? The shock mount can be massaged out a little with a punch tool and hammer.

No, I should have taken a picture showing it wouldn't fit but I was irritated and forgot. I can show the new rear shock and the old front shock side by side but not sure they are equivalent.

The frame of the shock is the same width, it's the bushing that is 1/4" wider and also the hole in bushing is bigger also. Someone mentioned removing the old bushing and installing in new shock, is that possible?

Bending the shock mount out may work but then the new shock takes a bigger bolt than the old shock. I'm afraid if I drill out the mount for a bigger bolt, there will not be much metal left for support.

Did you buy the Pro shocks used? Someone might have replaced the bushings.

I'm guessing the 2016 rear shock bolt & bushing may be different. I put Pro suspension all around on mine and had no issues like this.

Don't know if the front is any different. I got about 1-3/4" lift on the front once it settled. I can measure from the center of the wheel cap if you want to compare.

No sense in measuring, I had a 2" lift(1" spacer) and it went from 22" to 20.25", so I may have gotten a 1/4" lift from it.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get another inch out of it. A half inch top spacer or a half inch spring perch?

As far as the rear shocks, I think I can grind those bushings down a little on each side and then find a sleeve/bushing 1/2"x3/4" x1 1/2"

It is definitely from a 2015 Pro, there was no 2016 pro. 2017 pro had fox shocks.

How about put both shocks on the lifted snap ring groove and then put a taco lean spacer on the left.

That's an option and seems to be the cheapest option. I have 20.25" on the PS and 20.5" on the DS now. How much will the top snap ring grove give me on the PS and how much will the taco lean spacer give me on the DS?

Is there a downside/disadvantage to doing the spring seat spacer? Will a 1" spring seat spacer give me 1" or 2"? Toytec says 1" of lift.

I would put a spacer on both sides. it will mess with the geometry/ alignment if you only do it on one.

Yeah, I was thinking the 1" spring seat spacer for both sides. Is that better or worse or doesn't matter compared to the top spacer?

Spring seat spacer will make the ride stiffer. Top spacer does not change the ride at all, but will allow more downtravel which can wear out your CV's or cause them to over-extend. You would have to test it at full droop to make sure they don't bind. I'm not 100% sure how the top out bumpstops are on the 2nd gen, but the 1st gen they were built into the shocks. you may have to adjust them to make sure it doesn't droop too far.

Personally, I would do the top spacer and check for the other stuff i mentioned.

Look up the part number that is in your front shocks. I am guessing that you have 4 Runner TRD Pro front shocks and springs. They bolt in and look similar but slightly shorter than Tacoma hardware.

This was covered in the TX Baja / pro thread a few months ago.
