Avid Offroad is Awesome!! Bolt on Sliders!!

They're really steps, but Avid sells the parts to convert them. Everything is the same as a good quality slider except the attachment I can now lift my truck from the slider with a hilift

 

I have the same ones. It's a good start.

I am now going to weld channel steel between the bars and fabricated bolt-on L-brackets to the truck frame.

Before you work too hard, Avid will sell you the parts cheap.

we just cruise in Maui one day if i need them welded to the frame and do serious offroading.. not here as much

 

I don't think it was over $40. It was a number that stunned me. You'll see the pieces in this pic. Just hit them with undercoating.

 

I just crawled under my truck for this. It's got a little road grease on it.

Weve found that there are many different types of customers that we help. Some like the slider look with the 1 3/4 tubing over the tube steps but really only need it as a step. Which is fine for a great deal of Tacoma owners.

We also have the weld on slider group that want a kickout and the ability to rest the weight of the truck on them and have them as armor to save panels.

I like the look/style of them but more apt to go with something that bolts to the frame. I am not at my truck now but how do you bolt these to the 'rocker'? Do you have to go inside the truck and put a washer/bolt through existing holes? (hope you don't have to drill)

 

I recently installed the Avid bolt-on rails on my 2016 Tacoma access cab ; I am experiencing extra road noise in cab at higher speeds; Toyota won't make any corrections until I remove them ; wondering if it's being caused by rails anybody else noticing this ? Thanks John

No, most definitely not.

 

I doubt it's the rails, but removing them is easy. Only 6 bolts per side and they come right off.
