You got to try one out, they are so squishy its like an extra inch of travel on the bike. For dh stuff, I can def see an advantage with it.

The biggest problem with the plus tires in DH is punctures. That said the majority of people that ride them for XC and All Mountain wont have issues. You wont see pros switching to them any time soon and neither will I though.

Here's a cool video with Rob Warner doing some testing on different sized wheels/tires.

I do agree there, the rock gardens could whipe them out pretty fast. I always appreciate Rob Warners testimonials for his commentary.

...yea. the vast majority of plus tires out there are using a lightweight casing/sidewall. I ripped holes in both of my WTB tires, but it was also partially my fault for dropping the pressure too low for the specific terrain. If they put thicker casing on the plus size tires, they would just be too heavy.

I agree, best for all mountain type riding.. and dialing in the pressure is super important. Too high and you get a "bouncy" ride from the "un-damped" suspension due to large volume, and too low you risk punctures and the tire rolling over the rim when railing or landing off camber features.

True man, I tend to keep my tires at high psi as it is. I cant stand a puncture in the middle of a run and burning up an hour.

Glad i went with the black! And good to hear it looks good in person. I plan to do away with the original yellow decals. I know theres a company that sells any color. Im thinking of turquoise or red. Probably red. Cant wait to get it. Already orderd fox dropper wolf tooth lever. And A minion dhr because the stock rear tire looks like to grip. Going with crank bro stamp large pedals

Anyone know if a mountain bike(s) will fit under a bestop folder if I am using a tailgate pad? I am looking to improve my truck camping game, but gotta be able to bring the steeds along.

gotta fit these guys in the bed!

My old Specialized 29er and my new Yeti 27.5 both fit under my cap when fork mounted to bed....So I'd imagine hanging over the tailgate would work too.

i need to get a dropper too - you find a good deal on one? the minions are great, i've been really happy with them... grippy, sidewalls must be really strong, i've gone through some stuff and slid against rocks awkwardly when picking a bad line and going too fast and they have held up great. I probably have 250-300 miles on them since I got the bike in February.

Yea man its a good way to roll you'll love it. I'd also check out the softtopper brand. I saw a few people complain about the bestop after a bit of ownership. Also nice looking wheels, it seems we have similar taste! Also nice santa cruz!
