    Octoprojector update:
Just waiting on some Spyder headlights to hit the market so I can rip it apart and use as a donor.
If anyone sees them for sale- post it up!

Only downside I can see to the RLX projectors is that the high beams are in a separate bucket and will most likely not fit in the Taco housing. Oh well.. that's why they made light bars.

Uggg, I am half tempted. I really like the DRL bar on the Spyders(that's about it). Otherwise, I will go OEM housings.
Got the other side RLX headlight coming so I'll have a matching set. The most thing I am stoked for is the amber DRL LED's I am putting put behind each projector.
Not sure If I should keep the chrome on the surround bezels. As much as I hate chrome, it gives it a nice little flair. Blacked out would blend too in too much, I want the octoeyes to pop. Maybe color matched quicksand.. ideas anyone>?

Any way to tint the chrome with VHT nightshades? To give a black chrome effect.

Haven't even thought about selling.. these were just going to go on my truck. But parts along are ~1k($300 per RLX headlight, $200 per OEM headlight, plus switchbacks leds, etc). Can't put a price on super custom.. and I can say it's the only set on the planet:)
Btw- the 4.0's with CBI's will be a legit setup. It will rival the RLX for cutoff sharpenea and color for sure. But the Octoprojects have a super wide beam angle, decent cutoff, and just look nasty.

I've used some Pactra spray tint on all my chrome reflectors for years, the stuff works good but I imagine any clear paint with a little black will do the trick. It doesnt always stick evenly but being that it's a concave reflector it isn't as noticeable as a flat outward facing surface. Doesn't seem to degrade reflective quality too bad. I think the black chrome with black plastics and quicksand accent pieces would look solid. Looking forward to seeing the Octoeyes on the Tacoma. Was gonna do a set of MDX lights on my FX35 a few years ago cause it looked like the angles that the lights have to be set were close to the FX but couldn't find a used set at all cause they were so new and opted to do a quad projector set up instead. The heat sinks were huge too. I think the TLX and RLX ones are smaller and better looking. I'm soo looking forward to seeing you do this mod, it's gonna be killer

None. It's mounted using the existing projector mounting locations. Only "bounce" I see is when I hit a bump, the cutoff is so sharp it flickers off objects(plus I have stiff suspension and 33's) but the projector itself is rock solid.

I wish the LED projector technology was further along. I would love to do a really powerful LED retrofit.

I agree. That's why the RLX is the best factory LED setup I could find

As I await UPS dying with anticipation, I'm rechecking dimensions. 99% sure I got this.
The 3rd gen headlight width, height, and even the degree of slant back angle are near perfect for these!
    It's going down for real

This is going to be such a custom retro, when the buckets arrive I'll start a new thread

I'm digging the way you did your BHLM. I saw you post that the blinker and high domes didn't coat that well.

Could you post close up pics of them to show what you are referring to.

Also any pics with the yellow blinkers illuminated? And what bulb did you use there?

Sorry for all the requests; I plan on tackling this and trying to figure out route I want to go

    Nothing worthy

No problem, that's what the sites for! info.
For the most part the lens tint did a good job of coating the chrome buckets. Thankfully the couple spots where it essentially refused to adhere you can't even see.
I won't even bother getting a close picture cause its dark in there from all the black and you can't even tell it didn't coat well, just spotty chrome bits surrounded by "black chrome" Cant promise if you try you will get better or worse results...

Cant remember the brand of bulb I bought, its yellow. Ill take a pic of the package when I get home.

Here are comparison pics of blink during the day. It's plenty bright, can't say for sure with OEM brights tho, haven't tested em at night...

Not sure how Lexicons look, but here is what spray tint over chrome looks like close up. It's OK, but will never be as good as a factory applied. It's tricky to apply; you dont want too light of a coat because the texture would be rough.. And not too much because you will loose the chrome reflection(might as well just used black paint at that point).
I am not 100% happy... in fact im going to strip it off and hydrodip the parts in multicam to match my truck theme. I guess I am just over anal/OCD about stuff being perfect..
