Yes they would! The SR5's interior color of the tail light is an obnoxious bright chrome. VS Offroad/sport that have a "smoke tinted" inside chrome. (Which is almost just as bad lol)

Okay..I knew this would come up. Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: I originally spec'd black boards. (This would tone down the brightness of red giving it more of a sleek look). Unfortunately, this particular LED manuf. only had white available....so I said whatever. After mocking up the pros.... I am kind of glad they are white, and here is why:
Now that the "would be" red reflectors both side & rear have been smoked..I didn't have much red left in the lens in order not to raise any flags about DOT. With the white board(and some of the inside lens painted white) I can maintain the rear/side red visibility. Although I agree, a black board would look dope because the lighter COB LED strips would contrast the color. I plan on testing out a few boards painting the white strips black. Can't win them all..all you can do is just make a new Version:rofl:

    Me either.

Re-designing the LED board mounts to incorporate a heat sink. These won't be hobbled together with duct tape and superglue:p. Going full custom on them::

I'm actually surprised the LED's make so much heat. Is it because of the configuration or just super-duper BA LED's? Or am I just an idiot... (probably that last option..)

You gonna be selling just the electronics to the people that are a little more adventurous in cutting things apart? I'd totally be interested in a tail light and side blinker set up if you are willing to do that.
Awesome job with the different set ups! I admire your work

    Another update;
    Mesojdm---What's taking so long!?
Well... between all the other mods I offer, changing careers(after 14 years) , R&D , and life. They haven't been going as quick as I'd like.
Not to mention test fitting and gathering all the little parts to truly make this a custom light. (hardware, connectors, adapters, etc)
Case in point;; I went though a few different plugs and finally found a perfect fit to take the spot of the OEM turn signal bulb(since its now relocated to the reverse bucket) It' the little things..

After testing them unregulated... they are TOO DAMN bright. I will be stepping down the voltage, taking it to a more conservative level. That, combined with external heatinks and these things barely get warm.
In testing, the aluminum bracket does double duty; securing the LED board in, but also providing a nice chunk(1/4") of additional aluminum heatsink. (mounted together with thermo conductive paste obviously)

And last, here is a sneak preview of what am doing for my personal truck lights. (Turn signal only)
LED board will be cut to fit, and custom bezel designed to hold it in. You wanna talk about bright...

Just cut out that "life" part and you should be good to go then

Just kidding, this is some of the most thought-out stuff here so I know waiting will be worth it.

True. Funny you say that, I gave up the opportunity this year to buy out the stereo shop I've worked at Half my life, in order to pursue my passion(retrofitting included).

The price point seemed a little too much for me before but seeing all the custom work and effort you are putting into these is starting to pull me back in and I guess I will need to start putting aside the funds for a set of these. Very impressive and exactly what I was looking for in a set of tails.

Price aside, I just like building stuff.:welder:
I set out to create what I imagine would be the "Ultimate" tail light. Which is a fine balance between performance and aesthetics.
Covering every angle; Turn signal, Brake light, Reverse enchantments, etc. AND keeping the stock look OEM(ish).
Regarding cost.... hell-- I am not even sure what I'd list em' for. If I keep coming up with more ideas, they will turn to vaporware. I guess a price is whatever someone feels that object is worth. Can you put a price on Art?(insert Picasso painting price) . I will reiterate though, I am in no means rushing to get them done. I work on them here and there, and being my Brainchild..they Will be perfect. And ultimate:burnrubber:
