I'm staying hopeful and am very excited as this is my first truck. Either way, I hear great things about the Boss Suspension and the folks over at toytec have been very nice. I went with AAL to the rear plus their additional 1" additional lift (still unsure what this is) so I'm hoping for about 3" to the rear and 3.5" in front? And I'll be running 285/70/17. Can't wait until everything is put together.

Only three years for the 2.0? I read that to prevent premature bushing wear you should not fully torque the lower mounts until there is the full weight of the vehicle on the suspension. Same with the crossbolt on UCA installs.

I put a floorjack under the LCA and cranked it up until the frame came off the jackstand a tad then torqued the lower shock bolt and the SPC UCA crossbolt.

I'm glad I got the SPC UCA's this time instead of cheaping out. Besides the usual reasons for an upgrade it was a much, much easier coilover removal/install with the UCA's out beforehand.

On the install I did inadvertently reduce the Boss bling factor, didn't notice the "Toytec" lasercut logo was not facing out. Just grabbed the coilovers, looked that the three top bolts were oriented properly with the lower mount and slid them in.

I used this video as a general guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbsTJgb6S_c

He doesn't mention not fully torqueing the lower mounts and crossbolt until the weight is on the suspension, but I think it's a good idea. Probably should have mentioned remove the ABS wiring bracket and brakeline bracket also. Using antiseize on all bolts during the install is a good idea also, IMO.

I always allow the full weight of vehicle to rest on the suspension before I torque everything so it sits correct. $.02

Todays the 16th and so far no email to indicate shipping or any tracking information which makes me believe no coils yet.

True. I hate waiting passed what they informed me. Wished they'd at least follow up or send an email or anything. Anywho, nothing we can do but wait I guess. Anyone know anything or maybe toytec could chime in? I'm not mad or anything but it'd be nice if we got an update once in a while. Seems like there's a few of us in the same boat.

I did the shortcut of jacking under the LCA's one side at a time with the wheels off, then fully torqued the UCA crossbolt and lower shock mount. The frame came off of the jackstands, I figured that would work but I don't know if it's the same as having the tires on the ground.

BTW, I torqued the UCA crossbolt (SPC UCA with the updated bushings and washers) to 85 ft/lbs. If that is wrong anybody please comment. Lower front shock mounts I did 95 ft/lbs.

Anyone with a 1st gen can tell me how the boss rear shocks ride? I am referring to these shocks http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/ToyTec-Rear-Boss-Shocks--955-04-Tacoma-86-95-Pickup_p_1435.html.

I am currently running 5100s in the rear which are 7.7 and 7.9 inches of travel with the 3 leaf Progressive AAL. I am looking to redo my rear to get more travel. My plans are Dakars with either OME shocks which have 8.5in of travel or the boss shocks which I think have 9in of travel. but I want to know how the shock rides. I understand that OME shocks are a little softer then the 5100s but what about the boss shocks?

Also, curious if Dakars with toytec 1inch lift shackles and the extended travel 5125 would be better? everything mounted in the stock location. Any thoughts @ToyTec Lifts?

I have personally used all three shocks on my truck. The Bilsteins are a good stock replacement and the boss do ride somewhat similar but in my opinion i did feel as if the Boss shocks were a lot smoother for daily driving and at soaking up the bumps in the road.

I have my Boss 2.0 lift on order but my son and I did his install with the Boss 2.0 Kit to include those rear shocks. The reason I have mine on order is because those shocks are smooth and awesome. I did however just go with blocks in the rear and not an AAL because as a DD I wanted something close to stock in comfort, and these do not disappoint. If you go with the AAL it will be a little stiffer than blocks but it's not the shocks that contribute to it, it's the type of AAL you go with. $.02

I'm having similar vibration issues. Took it to Toyota and felt it but told me to return to installer. Warranty NOT covered after 7k for warranty!! Very noticeable in steering wheel, pedals, and console at 35mph on deceleration. Seems to happen with driver ONLY. I have BOSS 2.5 w/o resi all around w/ ALL and SPC UCAs. Also, running 275/65/18 Toyo MT w/ Fuel Vapors. Love the ride, hate the vibration. Any suggestions?

Put your stock tires back on and see how that goes. Most do everything all at once and since larger wheels can't be put on without a lift, it makes it harder to pin point what is causing the vibration. Test drive it with the stock tires and that should eliminate them.Did you install a diff drop kit? I also like to keep the factory rake which to me matters, good luck. $.02

This is exactly what's happening. I'll print it out for Toyota next time.

I guess those springs were a no show at Toytec today because I did not receive a shipping receipt. So we wait, "STILL".
