looking for a reachable and steady phone mount. Suggestions?

I have a Hondo mount for sale, pm if interested.

 

i also changed out the Hondo for a return to ProClip (used them on my last cars). i need a fully functional A/C vent here in North Texas. i guess i also have the Hondo for sale.

I mainly use it on long trips to keep Google maps up on my phone. Keep thinking about getting an Android Auto headunit then I wouldn't need it at all.

At this point it's probably a waste of time, but the hondo mount is awesome. Paired with the perfect squeeze he also sells makes it even better.

When I tested mine I even used a 2.5lb plate and it held fine.

I use mine daily.

 

How much for your Hondo?

 

Those with the Hondo and the perfect squeeze, most of hte pictures I've seen the phone is in landscape. Does the perfect squeeze work well with the phone in Portrait? Any slippage or falling of the phone?

here's a pic (w/o my phone obviously lol). i had the Hondo mounted since i bought the truck but i gotta have full adjustability of my A/C vent, so i'm back to Proclip... used them on my last car.

If you have an iphone (or they have galaxy cases as well) combine one of these https://sp-connect.com/collections/other/products/ballhead-mount with the ram arm. I have it on my motorcycle and it is the most secure and stealth system I've used and I've tried several. If you don't want to buy the case, although they are only like $40 and come with several mounts, you can get a universal attachment for your own case/phone. It is also totally compatible with the gopro stuff.

Or, configure something with the included mounts and forget the ram portion.

 

Anyone try one of the CD player mounts? Slides into the CD slot and holds the phone with a magnet?

 

I use one of those, but with the universal phone clamp when we travel. So far it's worked great in every rental car. But it's not something I'd use in my everyday vehicle. Eats up a lot of real estate right in the center of the radio.

 

Where did you get a ball mountable magnet mount? All my searches on Amazon keep showing the wrong results.
