I removed the JL Audio Cleansweep and the stock head unit and put in a new head unit. It's a Pioneer PRS-880 single din mounted in a black Scosche dash kit. No rattles with the Scosche kit.

The audio sounds great. Nice and clear with good separation between the speakers and the sub (head unit has built-in adjustable crossovers).

I did but my setup is pretty simple. I have a 4-channel amp. The sub is bridged over the two rear channels of the amp and the door speakers are running off the front channel hooked in parallel on each side (2 ohm load). So I don't have any fade control.

The sub install was just a matter of hooking it to the amp in bridged mode. Since it's a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub, I had to run the coils in series (8 ohm total load). I tried them in parallel (2 ohm) but it was cutting out. I was informed by some of the more knowledgeable folks on the forum that my amp was not suitable for 2 ohm bridged and that was what was causing the cutout problem.

The P880-PRS has a separate output for the sub so instead of running a rear speaker set, I used the sub output of the head unit to the rear channel of the amp. I already had RCA cables run from my Cleansweep install so I just pulled them off the Cleansweep and ran them to the head unit.

That's a great HU. Mr. Marv helped me locate possibly the last PRS-800 for sale in the known world. LOL.

But I love it, incredible HU. Wont' clip even at full volume. It will do until I can get a P99RS:D

Even my head unit is getting rare. One of the few sellers was a guy on eBay. I got it for $275 shipped.

Does the PRS 880 come with the auto tune mic? I know one of the higher end pioneers did. That's a great unit by the way. If I didn't go double did I'd have gotten something like that I bet.

I think it did, I know my 800 did. I heard mixed things about using it though, and I personally haven't used it. Some say it sucks, some say it gets you really close as a baseline to work with.

I just tuned (and am still tuning) using the tips Mr. Marv taught me. Once I get mine dialed I may try it just to see what it does compared to what I ended up with on my own.

It does come with the auto-tune mic. I haven't gone through the auto-tune though. It sounds great like it is so I didn't bother.
