You should see west of Fredericksburg, it's like a Tim Burton movie, dead oaks for miles in every direction. Sad af.

That sucks. Is there anything in place to slow/stop the spread? I hope something can be done. Fredericksburg is a neat area!

 

Live Oaks all connect at the roots, so people have tried trenching 4' deep, it's 70% successful, but not practical. I treated my trees with Alamo fungicide injections, it's not looking promising. I will treat the trees in the front yard again next year. Oak wilt moves about 40' a year.

I took a bunch of trees down for a buddy last year. Use to do this stuff regularly. It is hard work, do not miss it lol

 

Yeah I'm not a fan of trimming trees. I havent completely removed many, but on those occasions there were several of us involved

That really sucks. I hope you are able to get a handle on it. My GF's parents have a bunch of Live Oaks in NorCal and have heard rumblings about wilt. I hope it isn't out of control.
