All metal dash no air bags - seat belts?

I had a 65 Chevy C10 stepside - with a homemade plywood cap - drove it from New Orleans to Seattle and back in the summer of 76 camping in it along the way. Canyonlands - fell in love with Utah - Crater Lake - highlights. Real basic ride - 3 speed on the column - no A/C - nothing power- nothing to break - and nothing did.

Yeah. I actually took all the top and bottom molding off and welded the holes up, plus a lot of other stuff. At the time when I did it, that's what I wanted, but I appreciate the ones with molding etc even more now.

Here's a video I did of it, if anybody cares to see it.

Very nice. Did you use stock steering box? I'm thinking of getting a red head close ratio box and borgenson shaft.

After I check the front end- tie rods, pitman arm etc...

You forgot an important commonality...6x5.5 bolt pattern for the wheels on both ;)

She is a beautiful truck, I've always had a soft spot for the 67-72 body style.

    Nice truck OP.
We have a 86' c20 and a 82' c60 at work. Them ol' carbureted GM powertrains are a joy to work on vs the newer computerized electronic stuff, sensors everywhere it seems.

    Thanks.
Yeah it was stock. I put a new power steering pump on it tho, it was super smooth turning, could easily turn it with one finger.

BTW I meant to tell you I like yours, it looks to be in really good shape.. It's cool with 4x4 too.

Is it a Montana truck or did you get it out of state?

I'm torn when I see old vehicles now.. Between, just letting them be just the way they are, as far as the paint etc.. Or saying put some polish and wax to it, to protect it..
I just like the natural aging of old vehicles. It gives them character.

Montana truck it's whole life. Had two auxiliary tanks because, well, Montana lol. Very dry climate here. Definitely saw no salt on the roads.

I don't think I'm going to mod this truck. I'm going to mechanically work on it- new steering box, maybe get that passenger side auxiliary tank added back on, replace some worn interior parts. I know I'll get the body dings and scrapes repaired too. Not sure If I want to do a frame off.

The frame, shock mounts- everything under the truck is solid. Just surface scale. It is the most solid 70's 4x4 I've run across un-restored.
