I did a about 120 mile round trip today using only ShiftSence Pro. I have an Icon stage 3 lift running 285/70/17's and i must say i am very excited about my results! Before my truck would be shifting all the time on every slight incline. It now shifts through the power band and is now holding a specific gear longer and not trying to get to 6th gear by 35MPH! The open freeway running at 70 MPH i was in 5th gear getting near the limit of fuel economy but still had good solid RPM ! I only hit 6th once when i hit about 73MPH. For the first time since i starting running the 285/70/17's i have hit 18 MPG on this trip! On the turn around i was in mostly bumper to bumper traffic on the 405 it had no issues at all. If this continues i may give up on doing a gear change! I like it that much! So anyone running larger wheels and tires this is a game changer! I can see it being different if running stock tires. Thanks OP and all that helped in making this product available! One more thing i would add is it is so nice to be able to step on the throttle and have the truck respond so quickly, no lag or hesitation with the ShiftSence ! It definitely did not override fuel economy! 18 MPG's i am thrilled ! :headbang::thumbsup: :humble::cheers: :oldglory: :mudding:

I thought the big selling point for the 16-17 Tacoma was the improved gas mileage. If that is not the case, a 16-17 Tacoma with the 4.0 and five speed trans would have satisfied the owners installing the shift controller.

I found a good spot for the device: under the QI charging pad.

If you regularly use the QI charger you may want to check whether it gives off any heat that could negatively affect the ShiftSense, but I never use the QI on my truck, so this turned out to be a great mounting solution. Plenty of slack in the wires to cleanly run them from this location.

Also did a couple hours of driving today and have to say I love the way the truck behaves now. It went from being 'ok' to 'great,' without a doubt.

Fuel economy has remained inline with what I was seeing before. If anything, my city fuel economy has improved.

Shame I'm leaving for 2 months at the end of the week so won't get to drive it!!! I thought the 4.88's would do it for me but they didn't. After reading the initial reviews I'm thinking this will control the ridiculous shifting just enough to make the truck more enjoyable. I love it right now (even though I don't think Toyota ever tested this truck on a hill) but after a recent 2000 mile trip the shifting and incorrect gear choices had me irritated a number of times that's for sure haha
