So the new Civic Si was unveiled today. Or is just starting to be shipped to dealers or whatever. I had a 2012 Civic Si. The car was fun to drive. And even more fun after an engine tune. You think the new generation will keep enthusiasts around? At 23,900 MSRP it's a good competitor to the somewhat higher priced WRX's and GTI's. I'm not sure if the same amount of horsepower in a smaller turbocharged engine is enough to keep the Si enthusiasts happy. Any initial thoughts?

The styling is way over the top. If they put the drivetrain in a regular Civic body I'd be a player, but otherwise nope. It looks garish and ricey

    Looks pretty dorky

A bit bulgey but I like it other than the wing. 20.3 PSI of boost with 10.3 compression!

I just bought my first honda ever late November 2016. Its a 91 CRX. I love the simplicity and great MPG.

0121171041-00.jpg 20170225_194150.jpg I'm a Honda enthusiast myself. Didn't the new Civic break some kind of European track time? I had the chance to buy back my 91 Si and now completely redoing it for my soon to drive daughter.0121171041-00.jpg 20170225_194150.jpg

Kinda looks like a fat, uglier version of the BRZ

They're making a sedan version too. It might looks a little better than the coupe. I bet it's super fun to drive still. The looks don't do anything for me though.

It's hideous. All their new stuff is hideous, especially the CTR. If they could learn from their past designs, which had nice lines, they would sell tons more cars.

    Things like this...

    This...

    And this...

But instead we get this junk. Even Hyundai can design better.

    And, puke, this.

A lot of people don't like drastic design changes, but after awhile you get used to it. I wasn't crazy about the 3rd gen Tacoma but I dig it now! On a positive note, this is going into my Civic...IMG_9340.jpg

They need to bring back the S2000. The new NSX is not budget friendly. C'mon Honda!

But for a fraction of the cost, the NSX can hang with million dollar super cars.. But yes I agree on bringing back the S2000!

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Honda's are great cars and have fantastic engines. Some people get some insane hp out if them. But over the NSX I would want the GTR/ALPHA-12. However, I will never be able to afford either one let alone the insurance...:pout:

    205hp???

That's nowhere near the WRX mark of 268.

It's on par with the 86 and BRZ

I've owned too many Hondas to list. I got out of them for a while and bought a 12 Civic thinking about fuel economy. Not only did it get shit mpg(for what it was), the AC sucked and you could barely have a conversation inside it at highway speeds. It was a tin can on wheels with barely enough power to propel itself.

It was the only car I've owned that I never took pictures of.

The fun part of owning an SI is praying that when you walk out of the mall your car is still there and not stripped for parts so that some freaking vaper douchebag can bolt up your stolen SI seats in his dropped multicolored Civic LX. Cause da busta kept me outta handcuffs!

I saw this thing being developed while I was in Japan working on the current NSX..... it's actually a blast to drive. Like I said, just wait... will be awhile. LOL. That's all I can say.
