That's what I'm doing , my truck is long out of warranty but I'm still having the Toyota dealer do my oil changes with Toyota bulk oil and oem filters

Oem filter and any good quality synthetic. I'm partial to this brand called MOTUL, I think it's French. We get through a wholesale parts supplier we use. Its got all the certs for bmw, mb, vw/audi so if its good for the German stuff it'll work for me..

Wow thanks guys I didn't expect to get so much actual positive response. One more question, for the filters, is there a way to buy them in bulk and save money?

If I changed my own oil I would use Pennzoil 0-20W. I have a good service department within 50 miles of the house so instead of rolling around on the ground getting my hands dirty I'll let them do it and shove as many free cookies in my gut as I can while I wait.

I got my filters for my '07 from them. Correct parts (filters and drain plug gaskets) and got them pretty quickly.

Yes...M1 is available just about everywhere. Nearly all 0w-20 oils will be synthetic and will perform just fine. Pick one you like and enjoy your truck.

Do not over think it.

I use M1 and OEM filters. Never bother with going to the dealer for the two freebies. I enjoy getting under the truck and doing the services myself. I know it's done right and I get to keep and eye on everything underneath.
