It's just an emoji on truck forum. It shouldn't rent that much space in people's heads. Truly a First World problem. :notsure:

True, but aren't 99.9% of the problems on TW first world?
That popcorn emoji is harmless, but from the perspective of a new member posting an issue, they might draw an incorrect conclusion that this forum is mostly :jerkoff:
    and just say :luvya:.

    :)

Most of the shit here is kind if hilarious once you get the hang of things, but if you are new to forums (like I was at one point), it can be disturbing, to say the least, IMO.

I guess I am just an anomaly
Well,.....no.... unless.....see above- maybe also delusional?
So who else is glad that their vehicle doesn't have safety sense? That will probably be a maintenance nightmare after about 10 years.

I see most things like that as a potential nightmare...TPMS, VSC, TRAC-C, etc., etc down the road.

I realize we've come a long way in terms of safety and efficiency....but I'd rock one of these in a heart beat as my DD if I had the chance

I love my 2012, but man I have driven old 4runners and even older landcruisers and quite frankly I have such a higher level of faith in those cars than I do in my current vehicle. I love my truck and I trust it to the highest degee but there is always that uneasy feeling I have in comparison to those older vehicles, between A-TRAC, TRAC, electric 4X4 switch, AUTO LSD, etc. There is just some comfort I derive from simple mechanical means that is entirely unprecenedented in the vehicles of the 21st century, I am super young but quite frankly I just trust mechanical means as opposed to electrical means even though it is "the way of the future"

Adaptive cruise is cool. Had that on my G37.

Not saying that adaptive cruise isn't cool, or even that safety sense isn't good.
If it saves lives, like all the other safety features, it is well worth it.

From what I have read, the sensors require precise calibration to function properly, and since they can override braking and steering, I would be very leary driving an older vehicle with this feature.

I have read that the system can be disabled, but if in an accident with it disabled, it increases liability if the accident is the drivers fault( not too sure why, just read it somewhere).

And as was said previously, safety sense does seem to allow careless behavior to go to a new level. I see people text while driving all the time, I can just imagine what people will do having this feature.

Just happy not to have it.
