yep... we're going w/ DirectTV at the new house and it will save us about $75 a month....and we're switching cell carriers which will knock down another $75 ish a month... so it's looking a lot better.... either way I dont HAVE to sell it.... and I dont WANT to sell it... but I just need the numbers to make sense to my "adult" side



and I'll also be saving a LOT of gas commuting with the Miata and not the Tacoma...

 

Cut cable completely. Interwebz plus HD antenna. If you need some extra netflix is good. Amazon prime also has streaming as well. For sports check your cell carrier and all local games show up in full HD with the antenna. Ask me how I know!

 

yea I have Amazon prime, netflix etc.... but I know nothing about HD antennas.... care to elaborate what I'll need / how they work?

All I care about is football games and Capitals games...but I suppose I could get the NHL package / NFL package on my playstation as well right?

 

Basically it's the good ol' rabbit ears antenna. All local channels you can get for free and HD through the use of an Over the Air antenna. You can also get other channels over the air. During football season, you got Fox, CBS, and NBC showing the games ... and NBC does NHL.

I only do Cable internet so I watch TV with an OTA antenna.

You can also go the 'other' route and do all your streaming via Kodi ...

 

No Problem - They have sells on them all the time - Basically most of the broadcast local channels come out of DC and a few towers in manassas, alexandria. If you buy a good high powered indoor antenna you can grab all the local channels abc, cbs, nbc, cw, fox, news, even BBC, and international stations since it is DC. nocable.org gives you a list of channels and broadcast towers, http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-indoor-hdtv-antenna/ gives you all the details. I got an Amazon basic antenna myself but Mohu makes some good antennas as well. get a powered one I have mine mounted to the wall with some thumbtacks. I spent like 40 bucks.

This man it cuts out so much extra cost. We also got the Amazon fire stick and just use kodi, Netflix etc and it's great.

Did you bolt the bottom then drill holes? or mark, drill, then bolt.

 

I put the bottom bolts in and sat in flush against side and then marked. Took out bolts then drilled and then rebolted to make sure it all fit.

 

Cool thanks. I put 3 coats of rustoleum on it...might add another 3 coats and a clear...I didn't do a primer so figure I need to stack it up.
