I was hit pretty hard taking a left turn by a Honda Accord and I'm worried the frame might be bent. While I know only a repair mechanic can tell me for sure after inspecting, I'm wondering if I should keep my hopes up or accept letting her go.

Looks like just the corner is crumpled. I bet the frame will be okay, maybe need to be realigned slightly.

My core support was hosed. But I made do. Yours looks messed up. Will need replacing. Pm me to chat details or if everyone wants to know I'll post a long recovery story. I just don't want to hijack.

Take some pictures from underneath where you can actually see the frame. Looks like you might be alright, but the ends of the frame could have received some damage. That should only impact the relative ease of putting things like the bumper and core support back together though.

you get full credit for giving me the confidence to do it. When i post up the final pics you'll be cited

OP - when are you taking it to a shop? The body mount/front bumper horn was the weak spot on mine. The frame itself was fine, but the mount bent back. i was able to torch it and pull it back into position.

It comes down to if you can get the Front end aligned or not.

It might not be perfect but as long as it does not tear up the tires i would go for it.

Depends just what you can live with

Might be a great time To Do a Solid Axle swap and if need be splice in a new front frame section

Thanks for all the replies. Both airbags blew and the passenger wheel is pushed back to where the tire is maybe 3/4 of an inch from the wheel-well whereas the drivers side is about an inch and a half, so I suspect there is major damage to the control arms and/or tie rods and whatnot on the suspension. The frame may or may not be damaged but its probably not all that bad if it is. The crease on the inner fender in the engine compartment had me worried the most. I know its repairable but I'm not going to be able to do it and I don't have the money to get it fixed so, maybe its time for a new truck!

Look close at the frame behind (rearward of) the control arms. Compare that surface with the drivers side. If the passenger side has a noticeable inward kink there, it's toast.

do you think if you had a bumper like this it would have reduced the damage?

given how hard the hit looks...probably not. it may have actually transmitted more of the energy to the frame (whereas the OEM bumper crumpled and may have allowed damage elsewhere).

I guess it all comes down to your skills and having the time and place to do the work .

We all look at things different depending on what we know

One persons a weekend of work is impossible to even contemplate to some.
