For starters, My first set of tires have 10k left, so I am running out of time.... I have to convince my wife that the only set of tires available for my truck require a 3" lift and UCA's.

    Words of wisdom please:

    Kings, Fox, Icon or Radflows?

    Wheels 16" or 17" with 285's?

Weld on or Bolt On skids?

This should be the start of my build I think? At lease a place to start...

    All kidding aside,

Figured I would join this thread, but I am hoping to get some good advise and also possibly find some folks that like to prowl around the Palm Springs/Joshua Tree area. I am getting ready to start my build after drooling over many of the Tacoma's here on this site since 2013 when I bought my truck.

Thanks for the quick response, look forward to the opinions and thoughts of many.

Ok well the folks that know that kind of build are most likely asleep so they will be around tomorrow. I have seen good reviews on the first three never have seen the last name.
3 Inch seems to be the border where your choice of wheels/tires etc dictate UCA changes, Possible Cab Mount mods , possible brake line length increase and so on but that is all from what I have read here not personal experience.
Personally go with the 16's check the price of the same tires with 16 vs 17 you might find the 16's are significantly cheaper for the same tire.
I like bolt on Skids as it easier for future maintenance and or changes in what you want or if you damage one.
    YMMV

There are several from that area that hang In here, you will find the opinions are all over the map if you check out some of the suspension / tire threads for the various suppliers .

You will have to excuse the Dog he has a new toy and is playing with it a simulated drag tree he linked earlier. Btw @US Marine my Avg .181 but letting go of a button vs mashing the skinny pedal and the rest is a bit different.
