    Hunting Turkeys.

Drugs make people do crazy shit. Guy I used to know got hooked on Heroin and hocked pretty much everything he owned buying it. Even prized possessions that he'd never have given up if he was in his right mind, family heirlooms and whatnot. Finally hit rock bottom and got help, but not before he'd lost pretty much everything.

Damn that sucks brother. Even though the parents seem like they're as dumb as a box of rocks, still sucks for them to have to clean up this kids shit. Hopefully he'll get some help soon. Still won't replace the sentimental value of your collection but take the money and run before you wind up taking your frustration out on him and get into trouble yourself.

It's easy for parents to be like that, though. My mother didn't think that I drank until I turned 21, even though all through high school I'd spend Sunday mornings sleeping in late and wincing at loud noises.

Yeah but that's just about normal for kids that age. I didn't drink and I'd still sleep in whenever I could

It was out of the ordinary for me. I've always been an early riser, 4:30-5:30-ish. Sleeping until 10 or 11 was definitely not the norm.

That's what happens when you hunt for Wild Turkey at that age compared to you hunting for wild turkey now days.

Oh OK. 4:30-5:30 was never my norm that's for sure! And when I say sleeping in, 10:00-11:00 wouldn't do either, we're talking 1-1:30 maybe 2:00

Actually it was usually Miller High Life :anonymous: At that age I thought "Wow! $10 for a 30 rack! Why doesn't everybody drink this?!"

Oh, right. That's why. Nothing gives you a hangover like cheap beer...

Holy hell. I never slept in that late, even when I was sick or hung over. Even when I'd work overnight making snow and I wouldn't get home until 6AM I'd only be able to get to 11 or so before I'd be awake.

My best buddy from Cape went down that road (he was doing a lot more than alcohol too). His parents were the biggest enablers, not because they pretended to "not know" what was going on, but because they had no idea how to best help their son. You can't love someone out of their habit of drugs.

Kick him out of the house, and he was sure to OD on a park bench, let him continue to live there and he was sure to steal their stuff for money and never change.

    Me too.

I'll occasionally (very occasionally, maybe once every couple of years) buy a sixer of High Life cans because I'll be struck by a random bolt of nostalgia while I'm standing in front of the beer cooler. But then I've usually remembered why I don't really buy it anymore before I'm halfway thru the first bottle, lol.

I used to only drink good, craft beer until I became freinds with a bunch of professional beer drinkers. The professionals all drink shit, light beer. They can drink 30 of them in a morning- yes, morning. I honestly know people that will drink 30 bud lights between 5:30am and noon, I ice fish with a lot of them. So now I drink the crap beer too, my choice is Coors Light becasue it tastes the least disgusting out of all of them to me. I call them "maintenece beers". So like when I go camping I'll bring a bunch of Coors Light and then suppliment with Heady Toppers or 14th Star Tributes or some other kind of high test beer that I call "drunk beers". Usually a high percentage IPA of some sort. Light beer has it's purpose. You can not drink 15 Heady Toppers in a day- not only will you have alcohol poisoning, you'll be broke. So don't bash the light beers becasue they have thier purpose!
