So I feel like a wuss for complaining about this but does anyone else think the beds in the 3rd gen are the most uncomfortable things to kneel/sit/lay on? I've got a shell on mine so I always find my stood on my hands and knees when I'm in the back.
Been thinking of getting one of the bed mats below and just wondered if anyone had any experience with them?

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Had no idea there was an oem bed mat. I'll probably go that route!

I have a factory bed mat in mine. I don't know how anyone uses the bed without a mat. That thing is so slick!

    Knee pads??

Kidding, I had the same issues too. It's why I have the OEM mat now.

Get the OEM one. Contact this guy on here @gunny1005. He's a vendor on here. I got my factory short mat for $85 shipped.

2nd Gen's aren't any more comfy. Crawling in my bed is always something I loathe. The bed mat looks good and can only make things better.
Wife and I camp in the bed but we set up a 3/4" plywood platform.

The OEM bed mat looks good AND saves the knees PLUS stops stuff from sliding around!
    Highly recommended.

OEM bedmat is by far the best mod done on my taco so far. But since you have the shell on top and will be crawling around on your knees, I think the bedrug looks more comfortable.

Alternative option, get the OEM mat and then throw some carpet in the back. Maybe even attach it to the OEM mat.

Since you have a cap, install a plywood floor, then indoor/outdoor carpet it.

I don't know. I didn't start the thread about a bed mat for a specific trim level.

Yup, same mat from Toyota for awhile since the 2nd gen. Same for the turds, just difference of short vs. long.

I've had the OEM bed mat in from day one...comfy to walk on and grips good. The groves in the bed without a mat are a bitch on the knees no doubt.

Depending on what you use your bed for, you may want to look into carpet as well as another option. I use mine for dirt/gravel and other grimmey home DYI projects so the rubber works best for me. Yank it out, rinse it off and back in business in a matter of minutes.

. We all learn somewhere. Never owned a truck with a hitch and it took me 2 days to figure out what parts to buy (hitch mount, ball, and hitch lock).:rofl::rofl:
