Roof Rack Side Lighting

Hey TW!

What are you all running for side lights on roof racks? I'm looking at the Rigid Radiance Series Pods. I want to mount them under my Front Runner Slimline ii Roof Rack on the driver/pass sides. My goal is to have a light I can use for camping/workspace as well as so my daughter can enjoy looking out her window at night on trails.

I just went with cheap lights off of Amazon and they seem to work just fine:

One on each side of my prinsu rack.

 

Awesome! And you can't beat that price. Any reason you chose that over a pod style? I was thinking about mounting under the rack since there's all that Gap.

 

I wanted something thinner and more streamline so I figured the rectangular ones kinda matched the look better on the prinsu vs a pod style one. Originally I had planned to mount it inside of the side prinsu rails and have the light shine under like you have planned but when it came time to install, it was just easier to mount it outside and the look didn't bug me so stuck with it.

 

That makes sense. Yes. I think a longer led brick would sit more uniform than the square pods. Just gotta figure out what kind now.

 

How are those lights holding up? Still work after a year?

 

Yup working fine still. Granted i don’t use them a whole lot but they’ve been installed and still turn on with no issues

 

Awesome, thinking of doing the same on my roof rack as an aux light and then tying a raptor style light on it to illuminate straps when I have kayaks on top. Thanks man.
