What is the advantage of linear actuators over gas struts, or is it personal preference?

Personal preference I think more than anything, I hit a button, it goes up, I hit a button it comes back down. If you get struts that are too strong I could see it being a nuisance to pull it down, I've seen a couple people have to use ratchet straps to get their tent back down. One member on another forum went through 4 sets of struts till he found one that was strong enough to open and still easy enough to close (Partially his own fault for not doing research)

Finally some updates will be happening to the trailer, ordered my Linear Actuators yesterday, I got my fenders bent up and ready to install, and finally got all the metal to finish off the tailgate/cooking area. Should be a good time camping this summer :oldglory:

    Not entirely trailer related, but...

As great as my little 110v Eastwood has been to me, I just couldn't pass up the discount today on a Rebel.

My local welding supply house had a demo day, Lincoln, Miller and ESAB were all there. Got to try out all machines, and some were offering discounts, ESAB's discount was very generous and I couldn't pass up the deal. Also got a new hood out of the deal because I was the first one to try and in turn buy (not a Sentinel :() but still a nice one, and a 10lb spoil of wife for free.

I read that in his post and wasn't sure if it would be a good or bad thing...

It's the interwebs so proof reading is not important.

I'm just getting started stocking parts for a trailer so I've been trolling all the trailer builds.

Curious how much you've dropped on steel? I have all the tools and have priced out axle, etc, but the intimidating part is sourcing all that steel. Sorry if you've mentioned that previous posts; couldn't find that info. I'm up in Lyons.

I have 1100 into the trailer minus the RTT. I would have to dig through receipts to get you an exact number on steel, less than 350 I would say. Bought everything at K&K Surplus
