anyone have bilstein 5100 with the 6 inch rough country DB lift?
I'm bumping into a problem. Installed it and I am getting about a 9 inch lift with the cv boot and arm ridiculously angled.

Bilstein is on stock setting. I found a thread that someone had posted about the same issue but never updated the solution. He had the OEM strut on. So I don't think it would matter if I put the OEM back on or not.

    Need inputs! Thanks

I was already expecting a comment like that with all the research I've been doing.

I just want some solutions or thoughts of what it seriously could be. Thanks

If you don't like his lift, no need to post anything in the thread. Comments like that bog up threads and hide the real information people are here for.

Are you running the 5100s on the stock setting, with the 6" top plate spacer that comes with the RC kit? Also, snap a few pictures for us to see.

I came from the Titan world where the suspension set up was very similar to the Taco. Anyway in the Titan Bilstein 5100 would not work with the top spacer & braket lift of any brand. It would end up giving the Titans 8-10" lift in the front instead of 6". I really could not tell you why but it happened. Braket lift & 5100s did not match well. Hope it helps

What springs are you running on the 5100's? Those could be giving the lift.

A set of 5100's with OME 885's will give lift set at 0.

What kind of springs are those? As mentioned above, the springs need to be stock or like-stock as well, for the 5100's to give no lift at 0.

I really can't see how or why that could possibly be an issue. If it was set at 0 lift before the drop bracket it shouldn't add any extra lift WITH the drop bracket. :notsure:

I agree with you; in theory, it doesn't sound like it'd be a problem. But who knows. I literally can't think of anything else OP might be doing incorrectly. However, I have never heard of anything running a drop bracket (RC, Fab Tech, or Pro Comp) with 5100's before.

They just might not be compatible as @Justanotherhemi mentioned.

Do you still have your stock assembly? If so hold them next to each other and see if there's a difference at all.

The 5100 is an OEM replacement shock. With the clip on the lowest setting it is 98.99% identical to the shock it replaced. Nothing about it should provide any sort of lift.
