    Is the first gen axle a little smaller diameter than the second gen? Cause I got a set of all pro U bolts for a flip kit (just the U bolts) and they were just a hair too small and I was told were the wrong ones. If they would fit the first gen, id be happy to donate them to the OP. For the cause :)

    Honestly, I couldn't say. I don't know from 2nd gens, haha. I know mine has 3" tubes at the perches and the 3" ubolts Ruff Stuff sent worked fine. If the bolts are 3" then they should work. The top plates by themselves at Ruff Stuff are only like $40.

    I just checked them with my calipers and they are a little under 3" at 2.990". So it might be okay but might also take some work to get them on, then would be a little tough to get the U bolt plate on. But if @Ceddingermtb wants to try it to save a few bucks, I'll be happy to send them.

    Nah, they will probably be perfect. IIRC, when I put the calipers on my tubes to make sure I got the right ubolts and perches, they were just shy of the full 3", similar to the measurement you got there. Ruff Stuff's top plate is slotted a little bit so they should slide right in.

    I like the 2nd gen sport wheels on a 1st gen truck. It's a popular move I've seen elsewhere and it is subtle and just works. Of course the classic 15s are cool too...

    Then you can either get a set of those TG bump stops which will require you to drill and tap the top plates to bolt the bump on to them (with a very short bolt that you'll need to make sure doesn't go past flush with the other side of the top plate), or get a set of factory stops and have them tack welded to the top plate like I did. I guess you could do that to the TGs as well, but to me it'd be worth the extra effort to be able to take them off if I needed to.

    Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
    My thoughts are on the springs.
    Before any dollars are spent I'd unbolt the shock from the mount. Don't have to remove them completely, take it for a short ride. See what changes.

    Actually, you would have to take them off completely or you'd risk dragging them on the ground and tearing them off or bending them on a bump. They would hang quite far down when uncompressed. ;) I suppose you could tie them up, but at that point it'd be just as easy or easier to take out the top bolt and remove them.

    Out of curiosity, why do you suspect the springs?

    Yeah I'm actually not a fan of the look, I wanted to get some scs wheels 16s but I want to run 33/12.5's and those are way cheaper on 15s
