Recently my '01 3.4L has started having idle problems. It does not come back to idle speed (800-900RPM) very quickly.
It hangs up around 1900 or so for awhile and then gradually comes back to the correct range. This happens after it warms up to normal operating temperature.
Anybody got any ideas about what could be going wrong?
    TIA
    Jerry

My idol sensor went out and caused trouble with starting. But before that it would hang up at high rpms for short burst of time. That was in my 02 tacoma. I had the dealer replace it under warranty and it ran fine after that.

    getting there....
sounds to me like your idle air control valve may be dirty and acting up. its located under the throttle body. you'll need the tb and iac gaskets, but take them both off and clean both of them with intake cleaner or seafoam deep creep and reinstall.
