@Sirfixalot, I don't know how the knee airbag deploys or what area it will fill in the drivers side area, but if far enough in the deploy zone that radio could be turned into a projectile ripping the mount out of the plastic. Would also look at getting the power wire up out of the way.

Good point! It looks to be enough out the way, hopefully I never have to find out. Haha

It's a fire stik, i think it's 4 foot. I forget. Its plenty above the cab and gets really good range.

Alright so killed some time while I wait on longer antenna by mounting my swr in the glovebox... probably won't run it inline all the time once I get the new antenna tuned but it looks cool in there ha. Just need to cut out a hole in the piece that pops out in the back. Also I mounted the spring directly on the mounting hardware to get the antenna low enough to go in driveway... swrs haven't changed for the worse so I don't think there's anything wrong with doing so but we shall see. Thanks guys!

Took me forever, but I finally got around to finalizing my radio install. Everything is cleanly run, tucked away out of view, and all aux electrical runs back to a secondary fuse panel on a Pelfreybilt mount.

So, anybody have any tips for running the power wires from the cab to the engine bay? I know there is a rubber grommet that is under the dash, but I can't seem to feed anything through there.

    Perhaps its not hungry?

I needed to make a relief cut in the grommet prior to getting any wire through it.

Yaesu FTM-400. The Hondo vent ring is perfect for this, or the radio right where I want it. I printed a very small mount to marry it to the radio and not look too crazy when the faceplate is stowed.

I ususally tape the incoming wire to a cut wire hanger, pushing through the grommet.

Mounted my CB in my center console. I'll need to redo some wiring and run a dedicated hot/cold from the battery to my radio, but otherwise I'm satisfied.

Pro 510 / 520 is probably one of the best all-around cb radios ever. Very solid performers and clean. nice job. Wait, is that a uniden?

Permanent mount antenna (only way to go, IMO):

Very nice! I assume that unit does MotoTrbo? I am moving to CO soon and excited to work the large Turbo network they have there.
