I just tried some TRUFUEL 50:1 in my Stihl string trimmer - that stuff makes a world of difference!

Unfortunately, it is quite expensive (price per gallon).

I need to find ethanol-free fuel for my tools.

It is expensive, but my yard is small so I don't use a ton between weed wacking and mowing. Snowblower uses a lot, but I usually try to get 110 octane ethenol free from a Sunoco a few towns away if I have time.

Plus if you're just using it for car camping ("overlanding") it'll likely last a while as you probably won't constantly be using it.

I use the Stihl premixed cans for my weed whacker. It's like $10 for a liter (or quart maybe?) But it's ethanol free, premixed for 2 stroke goodness, and has stabilizer in it for a very long shelf life. I only use a couple liters a year to do my yard so the cost doesn't add up too much, even though it's rediculous on a $/gal level.

Yea saw that on insta. That's a big tree to buck up. That's what made me throw together the video, I kept seeing chainsaw video clearing trails and I was over here like :kickrocks: A while back I was a tree climber and had my own climbing saw, ground saw, climbing gear, etc.. but once I got out of the business I sold everything. Now I'm left with my original climbing saw that fires up with some work put in but doesn't like to idle. Not so trusty on the trail. If I can't get it to run properly I'll be saving up for a new saw. I have more footage of a trip coming across a large tree blocking the trail, I put a snatch block off the side of the trail and winched the tree over like a massive gate. A chainsaw just makes everything easier.

I've wanted a tray for a few years now. Local guys I told or sent Aussie rigs to thought I was bonkers. Now that mainline overland is getting them shipped in, I feel the next few years they are going to get really popular. If the price tag wasn't around $10k I'd rip my bed off in a second to install one.. Thanx for the pic to see how rad it really would be.

But what if you knew a guy that wasn't selling someone else's product and jacking up the prices?

I'd be very interested for a reasonable price. I thought about looking for the actual product that didn't include the "dumb American/expo AF" markup, but then I'd be upset, so I didn't look into it.

Norweld won't talk to you about importing into the states now that they have their deal going with mainline. I know this because I was negotiating a deal with them when they struck their deal with mainline and closed with me telling me to go to mainline. Went to mainline and was quoted over 30% more for the same thing.

There are heaps of manufacturers making trays and canopies in all sorts of materials for all sorts of purposes. But if @ChandlerDOOM decides to make and sell purpose built trays for Tacoma's you know we won't be paying for generic fittings and shortcuts in construction. They will be direct bolt on trays that you won't be cussing at when you install it.

Now, for the purpose of complete transparency I will state that I consider Chandler one of my personal friends. We've spent allot of time together tinkering with trucks and talking about ideas like this one. Seeing his level of attention to detail and his ethic of doing it right the first time in person, I can say that I see no reason why his tray project won't be a success producing top quality options for us. With that said, I consider myself lucky knowing that I'm going to get a chance to check out and finger poke his creation before you guys get to.

This is what I sell in my stores VP 50:1, and use in my own saws. $8/qt retail but perfect for infrequent users like for camping, homewoners, fire depts, SAR and others who may crank the saw once a month. Supposed to last years. I've been using/selling for two years and I can crank the saw on 3 strokes after sitting for a month without use.

This is something I'd really like to have as well. I enjoy making stuff so I'd build it myself. I want a pop top that goes over the cab as well. Kinda like a Westfalia roof.

Yeah I laughed when I read their price sheet, I was actually considering them figured I could live with the minor details that I didn't like but for the price it wasn't worth it.

Stay tuned and I may have something that would interest you
