We put in a TuffShed in another location. This was the (hideous) view out the kitchen window. Hated it. Plus bring spider and mouse habitat... and over 15 years old... it truly was a POS. Local quarry had some stone ill put down to create more of a patio area. Discovered the area gets great afternoon sun. May even consider a couple raised garden beds.

Oh! And our hammocks. I'll dig holes for two posts and set in concrete. Use the tree as the third. We did a similar setup at our old house and pretty much lived there all summer!

I'm wanting to do the same. That looks Great !
Easier alternative to tearing out the bricks and starting over for an upgraded look.
What do you call the process ? Are there different colors to choose from ?
    Nice job !

It's called a "mortar wash". Basically sponged on the mortar and wire brushed away areas to reveal the brick. I used plain white mortar mix but I believe there are dye packs you can buy to change the color of the mix.

    yep..
Picked up a load of 2x12s. The ones that are currently on the raised bed garden are rotting out.

Also got a bit more work done tiling the master bathroom. Glass guys come to install the shower glass next week!

Panorama mode made things look crooked but it's all level!

Is there such a thing as a lath screw with a head about twice as wide?

never seen those. Will probably have to accompany a washer/fender washer with the screw.

They do make lath and plaster repair screws , they are essentially a thin barbed washer with holes in it for the plaster to key into plus a screw

Hmm. Close, but not applicable to what I need. I'm trying to attach heavy gauge livestock fencing to the wood frame of the new chicken coupe. Staples and U nails don't hold well enough. I've used some lath screws on the gate and they seem to be working well, I'd just like a touch more width on the head to positively grab the wire.

    yep..
    Hmm. Check these out

    www.bigheelfasteners.com

The only issue is they may not grab the wire appropriately depending on the gauge

What length do you need ? You could try some short GRK RSS screws

    http://www.grkfasteners.com/products/structural/rss

or their Cabinet screws if you don't need something as heavy duty
