I'm looking for the model that is a bit bigger than a lawn tractor, but smaller than a normal tractor.

No mower or anything, something like this...

I was in the same boat until i shot a s&w 642 and a ruger lcr, the ruger to me has a slight better trigger but both are excellent to be that small. I also have a charter arms 4" in .327 mag and it shoots pretty good but i would say its a few notches down from the smith and the ruger. I learned to shoot on it, so i feel like i can basically shoot any handgun well now. My wife carries the .327 now and i graduated to a .357

    OK....Now....Price range you're looking for?

Those Cub's are pricey for 50 year old tractors. Simple as hell, aftermarket parts readily available.... Usually $1200 to $4000 for a "runner". Newer tractors that size are called "compact tractors". You can go north of $40,000 for a fairly basic (new) one.

Cubs (like picture) are like ants at a picnic here in Kentucky. They were the #1 most popular cultivator tractor in the tobacco fields (until that went to big acre operations a few years back)

Rugers are...not my favorite. I haven't shot any smaller S&W, but I am fond of full-size revolvers. The 686 Pro is hands down one of my faves. I love shooting .357. I'll have to try one of their smaller options the next time I'm at the indoor range.

I have a couple co workers with those j fram smiths and i was blown away how well they just point for me to be as small as they are, my uncle had a a taurus 85 which is basically a clone of the same smith and i again was impressed with that, maybe my expectations were too low to begin with but i was able to hit a piece of chewed chewing gun at 10 yard with the taurus and it only took 2 attempts. @dirty deeds has a taurus like that as well

Try this...IGNORE it and quit obsessing over it. There's nothing to be afraid of.....really.

@Roll Tide , The Cub went into production in 1939. They stayed in International Harvester's line up until the late 70's. Early models were "Cubs". Later models had a number designation (ie 140, 150 etc...) The NEWEST ones are closing in on 50 years old. They kept some of the same basic drivetrain designs start to finish. Most were made at the Louisville Ky IH plant. Most were red. Some were yellow and white. (known to fans as "bumble bee" Cubs) They were 11 to 17 hp most of their production run. With weight and gearing, they would out pull 10 "garden tractors" of same hp range today. If you get one, let me know. I can hook you up with any one of a dozen aftermarket parts vendors that deal with vintage FarmAll tractors.
