So, I've just finished my Toyota Care services/oil changes. 5 in total over the first 25k miles I think. Anyway, I was just looking at my service records/receipts and I noticed that they haven't been using the same oil for each service.

The first one was synthetic oil, the next two were regular oil, the next was synthetic, and this last service was regular again.

Is this ok to do?? What's the deal here?

The engine doesn't care, use synthetic from here on out and you'll be fine.

Provided oil change intervals were maintained at 5,000 miles its not going to matter. There is no scientific substantiation to the claim that you shouldn't mix oils because seals will leak or it will cause engine problems.

What would matter is if your OCI were beyond 5k and they used conventional oil. If they used synthetic over 5,000 miles no concern, its just a waste of their oil and money.

It's ok to do that , sure, I recommend to get the BG Product services at toyota Dealer, they're lifetime warranty if you do your regular intervals, offered for all kind of fluids.....to the oil is 115 MOA product, do your research .... i guess you will want to keep those on schedule. I just did full fluids change with the BG at the 63,782 miles mark to qualify to that supposely warranty. Runs smoother than before.....just IMHO :burnrubber:
