Different sound/issue. When the screen has been clogged in the past, I could see it was cavitating and making a whine. It was also related to steering load.

There's no cavitation now, and the noise is happening while driving straight down the road.

I haven't looked into rebuild kits for the taco from Toyota, but I have seen and used them for Land Cruisers. Kinda hard to say whether it's rebuildable at this point. I think the pump is toast, obviously, but I'd be concerned about metal shavings from the bad pump ruining the steering rack. And it sounds like you have a newer OEM rack, worth ensuring that stays good, at least IMO.
I'll bet @Dirty Pool knows if it's worth rebuilding the pump or not, in general.

patched up the pan today finally with jb weld, letting it cure for tonight, does anyone know how to swap a pan on a 2.7? Would I need to pull the motor? If it springs another leak Ill just get a new pan.

Torqued up the front end and ran the air line for the front locker. Does anyone have any idea if they make ABS block off plates for the front spindles? Both of mine broke off and since ABS is disabled I just need to block it off to keep crap out. I saw they have them for the rears but not sure they would fit the fronts.

If the rear axle bearing has oil running through it's also toast.

You can get the pan off if you drop the diff, I might've put a jack under the front of the trans to try to push the engine up too. It was a tight fit but it was possible. It just sucks when you put the silicone on and you have to try and get the back side of the pan over the crossmember but under the sump.

did you use a gasket too or just silicone? I'm hoping this jb weld holds up and i won't have to do this because it looks like a royal pain in the ass

I just used permatex black, the crap that comes in the pressurized container so it just squirts out. Far as I've heard there's really no use in screwing around with the gaskets in general.
