I'm really sick of my Tacoma (base 4cyl= no balls) so I'm looking at a 2000 Tundra instead. The Extended cab 4x4 8cyl is what I'm after. I've read hundreds of reviews and the main problem seems to be the brakes?

Just how bad are the brakes? How often do they need to be replaced?

Also, many sites list fuel type as "premium". does it actually need premium gas?

i could ask this on a tundra forum but i trust your guys' opinions more :D

thats cause your 4cyl has almost as much HP as the tundras old V6. the new tacoma V6s have the same horsepower as the old V8s just about

I had a 04 and 06 Tundra & always ran 87. No trouble with the brakes either other than a little soft in the pedal, but no other issues at all.
