Help please my 2008 tacoma wont start, it has no cluster gauges symbols, wont turn over, wont click. Only shows what gears its in. All fuses show power. I am in a wheelchair and i need this truck as my daily driver. Battery posts are clean, cant see any visable grounding of wires off the starter or out of the fuse box. Tried jumping still nothing.

Did you get a battery voltage reading or perform a load test on battery?

Possible the battery is toast. Only way to really know is to check voltage with voltmeter and then load test it.

How did you try to jump it, did you go terminal to terminal or use another ground, have seen issues with the ground from the battery.

if your battery is undercharged/depleted or has a bad cell its not going to start.

Try jumping with the ground somewhere else see if it acts any different.
But yes extremely bad batteries can cause problems without a good jump box.

image.jpg@Bluetacobro, when you turn on the ign, do you have anything not working? Such as the radio, fan. Three fuses to check would be IGN, IG1, and IG1 No. 2. Under the dash.

Why would my deck still be on and windows still work, wouldnt the dead battery effect everything. not just my cluster gauges and starter?

How long since it last ran? Any bad storms? Ran thru any water? Anything unusual leading up to this? Did you check fuses in the cabin and under the hood?

    back to bone stock.
my step #1 is to always put a voltmeter to the battery. i had a bad cell on a battery once, and it drove me and the two truck guy insane trying to jump it.

    now? voltmeter.

Step 1. Do you have a clue what you're doing?
Step 2. If not go to an auto parts store and ask them to check your battery, for free.
