Btw No joy on grinding the seam down , went for plan B align the lathe and turn the outside of the other piece nope head stock pass through is not large enough to allow it . So on to plan C go to my local Steel yard find some solid stock or get the machinist to turn the outside for me .

Why not just grind the flat in the outside of the inside piece to align with the seem weld and see what happens first

I took another piece and tried that the grind line has to stay perfectly in line or it Jams and since I do not own a mill as of yet :{ I blocked it between two pieces of steel to try to keep the line straight as possible and at one depth jammed the shit out of it going in do some more grinding noticed it was turning on the way in then it jams coming out to much of a headache. If the price is not right I will most likely just flatten 4 sides of the piece and that should give enough wiggle room.

Oh ya I do. There is one in Fontana that has Truck parking. I used to go there and park overnight. Eat a good meal for Dinner, then eat a good meal for breakfast.

This will sound cazy but take another piece of the 1/2" pipe, stick it in a vice and cut a slit in it wide enough to slide over/ around the seem weld and slip it into the outer pipe and see what happens. You could, by doing this, provide yourself with an alignment guide that will keep the inner pipe aligned properly. Damnit you should live closer

That was quick... usually you're waiting hours after you are scheduled for :annoyed:

I told you to pull it up and put a fan under it!!! :p Hope you can get the mold out.

I didn't take mine up and neither did the neighbor... but we got the water up right away and had a fan going for days

 what are you trying to do?
