Ok, it wasn't exactly like that . but close. I finished playing hoops at the park the other night. After putting everything away, started the truck and drove over the hill and made a stop for a bite. Parked. Turned off the motor, and started looking for my keys so I can go inside. NO keys to be found. But wait, I just started the truck and drove over here. They have to be here. I hit the start button, and NO KEY DETECTED -what ????? wife brings me hers, went to park etc.. no can find. How did the truck start if the keys where not in the cab ? Next morning I did experiment , place FOB around outside of the cab. The bed, the bed rail, the hood, the roof, on the ground by the door,.. the truck will not start ... what ? I know I didn't start the truck and get back out and somehow lost the keys. I know that for a fact. Where are Waldo's keys, lol ? driving me crazy. They sure as heck didn't fly out the window when I was driving. Love the key-less ignition, but be careful.

Check all over the inside? Under passenger and driver seats? Also check between the passenger seat and b pillar as well as between the seats and center console.

Maybe something killed your remote battery. My truck seems to start with the key anywhere inside the truck...doesn't start outside at all. Might be wedged somewhere pressing the lock button constantly.

You swallowed your fob, it worked until the stomach acids got to it. You'll have it back tomorrow.

I was looking for the keys as I parked and motored off.. and then stood out the door and looked..would of noticed if they fell out, as wearing BB shorts. good thought though.

good thought - I looked extensively after discovered it missing - looked everywhere in the cab. I feel kinda dumb, but also knowing it was within striking distance to fire up the truck, other then leaving the cab after I drove off.... stumped

live in Hawaii - not Chicago.. the key has to be in the cab when it starts, based on experimenting with my other FOB placing several places outside the cab. Whatever I did, I did it good.

Clean out the truck. If it is in there, you will find it.

really is the only plausible answer... but I know I didn't get back out, because I change shirts (basketball) just before getting in the truck, started, and pull out. At this point i've written off the keys, but still want to know how..
