    I am about to get a Snugtop Rebel with windoors and a fold down front window. If I have non-vented windoors, will the front window provide enough air for dogs in the back when the truck is moving?

    possibly, but it could also fill with fumes from the low pressure zone. i'd at least slide the windoors open as well.

    This is why I want to see if any members can tell me from their experience if vented windoors are necessary when transporting live cargo. The dealer is offering standard windoors for 115 and vented windoors for 175. It sure would be nice to save 120 by getting the standard. As a compromise, I might get one of each.

    You want air to travel freely front to back through the canopy. Will the dogs die without sliding windoors? No. Will they be comfortable in hot weather? Probably not.

    $120 is pennies in the big picture.

    --

    Better yet, keep the dog in the cab.

    I have the same thing on my truck. I always slide open both side windows when my two German Shepard are riding in the back. When I'm on the freeway I only leave the passenger side open which has a mesh screen so they don't stick their heads out!

    I got that thing ONLY because if my dogs

    Ultra flex tonneau, bed mat, Ionic nerf bars, weathertech mud flaps and floor mats
    I took my dogs out in the snow and didn't open the sliding windows because I was worried it might be too cold. Wrong! When I opened the camper shell, it was like a steam bath in there. Dogs were ok, but I made sure to always keep the windows open in the future. Spend the $, it's worth it.

    thanks everyone for your input. That pretty much confirms what I was thinking.

    This would be difficult since my wife is allergic to dogs. Years ago, we picked up our first puppy from a breeder about 100 miles from us. We had left a baby blanket with the breeder so that the pup would have something familiar with her when we took her home a few weeks later. We didn't get 5 minutes away when we had to pull over to throw the blanket in the trash because my wife was getting overwhelmed by a bad allergic reaction to it!

    Wife into the bed, problem solved! :D

    Depending on the type of allergy, there may be shots that your wife can get to build up a tolerance/immunity. My buddy was like that, got some shots over a period of a few months, and now has a dog.

    Got one with the sliding windoors to the cab, and has screened sliding windows on each side as well.
    But honestly, they're in the cab with me most of the time, they're well behaved either way, just sadder when they're not in the cab, lol
