    The brakes are not the best on my 99 tacoma and I will be putting mud tires on soon. What are some good brakes and their prices?

    Pretty much stock right now
    I did the Tacoma power stop set a while back. Not sure why I didn't do the tundra upgrade. They work great however, and it does not feel like I'm missing any breaking power. I liked it so much I did all four wheels (calipers, rotors and pads) on my Accord. Only trick is following the break-in procedure. Follow the instructions or the pads may squeal when breaking.

    Even with 16's, fit is not guaranteed. I've read about a few people with fit issues. Some people end up with wheel spacers, and some even grind the caliper a bit.

    5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
    I had opportunity to redo the rear brake lines due to rust issues and as a result I got rid of the Toyota proportioning valve and isolated the front and rear brakes from each other completely. I put an adjustable valve inline for the rear with standard quality shoes and the front I put in some performance carbon fibre pads from Rock Auto, as a result the brakes are now better than they have ever been. That was my solution to the weak Tacoma brakes as used Tundra parts are hard to find up north.

    I purchased reman calipers from NAPA and gave my old ones back as cores. No questions asked. New rotors also.

    I went with 17" toyota sport wheels. I like the look on my 1st gen taco and 3 gen T4R. If you keep your eyes out you can find a set for about $200.

    I'm not exactly sure why, but ONE of my wheels doesn't fit with the Tundra Brake Upgrade and I have the exact kit from Power Stop. Passenger side works great (it's CLOSE), but it does all fit. Drivers side... No dice. I even called Power Stop to ensure they were the 13WL casting, but it doesn't fit on the driver's side. I literally tried everything I can think of- to include re-installing- but it still didn't work. I ended up ordering SpiderTrax wheel spacers so we'll see what happens when I get those on. They'll be in on Monday, so hopefully the truck will be done (at least for the time being)...

    Hmmm. So they list the pro comp 8069's being good, which are supposedly the exact same as the 1069, just black vs polished.. But don't specify the wheel width.... Or should it not affect it? Basically coming down to they'll probly fit, but I may need spacers to offset the different bs and increased negative offset of the wider rim, am I understanding that correctly maybe? Ha.
