Cypher- I had a board with some dry rot, most likely from an old basketball hoop I had mounted up there when the kids were small.
I pulled up some shingles real careful like, cut out the paper and the rotten board, primed and painted, then replaced. Good as new

 

Chile-The "backwoods" is more of a state of mind more than a location. I love the mountains and have camped and backpacked all over the western US, including a 350 mile 5 week long backpack, and a 16 day solo backpack in the eastern Sierra. Currently looking at doing the 210 mile John Muir trail.
Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong century, I like the old west, simple living, growing my own food, doing my own repairs, shooting my Winchester mdl 94, my Henry 22, and my Ruger single-six.

 

Had to ask really wasnt sure I have been known to make a mistake or two doing home repairs lol .
Besides if we didn't mess with each other it would get awful boring now wouldn't it

Just about done with the VA eye appt and looking at getting surgical procedure to remove a stain in my r/eye in the next month or so . Also going from reading glasses now to full time wearing glasses " bi focals" , sucks getting old
