Just finished doing the deckplate mod on my Tacoma! It turned out great I took it on a test drive and I could definently feel the quicker throttle response. Also I love the way it growls louder! Thanks cmack on all the help, and anyone else who I got tips from, Thanks alot guys

Nice job on doing it yourself! I just did mine last week. And cmack was right, I went through that tank in about 4 days! But I'm back to driving like a grandma again.

And just for fun tomorrow, rev it up to 4,000 on an acceleration.:D

Sorry, its only for first gens.:) I dont think it works on the second gen airbox.

But to answer your q, it is when you cut a hole in your airbox and place a boat deckplate in it so that it can be sealed in bad weather.

Yep, only for the first gens. But there is a elbow mod and secondary airfilter removal for your truck. Do a search for them, both free and easy and if im not wrong gains in mpg, throttle responce and sound. ;)
