2nd Gen OR Second Battery Mount

That's a sweet setup. I like that the circuit breaker, fuse block, and battery isolator are mounted to the tray. It's a great way to consolidate all the dual battery components. It's also good for us manual tranny folks since most of the fuse panel mount offerings don't accommodate the clutch reservoir.

Since I already have a 2nd marine group 34 battery on a home made mount, will it fit in the tray?

 

Thanks! Any battery smaller than a 27 will fit the tray so the 34's should work great.

I checked out the Bussmann RTMR's too. The mounting plate people are selling for the RTMR fuse/ relay panel, with circuit breaker cutout, is going for $60. Definitely taking that into consideration since your tray already has that. Also didn't want to separately mount relays, breakers, fusebox, and a crapload of wires running everywhere between them.

The 15303 RTMR will fit? I wasn't sure if those fuse/ relay panels came in different sizes.

Got one of these installed! So clean and consolidated. 5 relays, 5 fused connections, battery controller/ isolator, circuit breaker, and battery mount in one nice package.
I used my existing group 34 and Blue Sea SI series battery controller. Actually, most battery controllers would work with this mount, but it's tapped for the Blue Sea ML series. Plenty of space. It's a little dirty after last weekend, but everything help up beautifully.




This was right after installation- before some wire re-routing & additions today.

Will it be possible to get your smog pump relocation bracket without the battery kit? I need it for something else

 

Did you get the smog relocation kit completed? Not sure if I asked via PM or not. Want to get the tray kit fairly soon.

 

I don't know, but we can give it a try? It looks like there may be enough room.

I've been working on the relocation kit now for a while. I should be installing one of these soon for someone local who needs the whole thing done. The biggest issue with relocation is the wires that need to be extended. I have been looking for the plugs to make an extension harness, but I can't seem to find the connectors. If someone finds them for me or if you can figure out the make/model they are. I will take care of you!

Unfortunately, due to emission equipment this won't fit a 3rd gen. I'll be working on building one for ATRAC models.

Not really. With a group 27 battery the space is really limited in that area. I could design the same system to use a smaller battery, but I'm not a fan of the 34/35 size batteries for extended overloading use. You are better off getting a big main battery with solar.
